Chiang Mai is Thailand’s second biggest city. It is located 700 kms north of Bangkok that is elevated at 1,027 feet above sea level. Chiang Mai is also known as “The Rose of the North”.

While it is the main point of farming community with a thriving market and yet, far from Bangkok’s metropolitan image. Chiang Mai is part of Asia’s attractive tourist destinations to date. You’ll enjoy all the fascinating culture and beautiful scenery. There are many ancient temples, cuisine, architecture, traditional values, handicrafts, and thai traditional dance. In the northern forest, tourist can enjoy seeing the elephant training camps, monkey training camps, water fall, and many other areas!

“Chiang Mai is a great place to base your location when you want to experience the wonderful opportunities in Thailand with all of it amazing places, nature, culture, food and more.”

Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, a Buddhist Temple.

Temple

Doi Suthep hill has been seen as a holy place for more than twelve hundred years. The original inhabitants, the Lua, believed that the souls of their ancestors resided on the hilltop. When Buddhism was embraced by the Siamese people, the hill became the epicentre of the universe, and the centre of Buddhism in Lanna.

The temple was built in the late 14th century under King Geu Na, and attracts many pilgrims and tourists, both local and international, throughout the year.

“Pretty flowers and a few butterflies” – tripadvisor

An opportunity to see a great variety of orchids in one place, some with a smell of paradise. They are nicely arranged and amazing that many of them grow hanging in the air with no soil. The butterfly display was a bit disappointing, since there were few of them and not really colorful as I have seen in other butterfly…
